Tyjeski Tile Company
The Tyjeski Tile Company LLC specializes in creating handmade art tile. TTCo tiles are ideal for exterior and interior installations, such as wall panels, backsplashes, fireplace mantels and hearths, fountains, pools, and more. Special designs for custom tiles and panorama artworks can also be made.
The artist behind the tiles is Ben Tyjeski. He finds inspiration in the craft and design of old homes and buildings, and believes that these traditions do not need to be lost. Tiles can be handmade and artistically treated, all the while be easily cleaned and functional. But you cannot buy these art tiles in a store. Tyjeski's tiles express the creativity of the artist and the client, working together, to fit a space with a beautiful, unique design and even tell a story. Tyjeski also photographs and writes about historic, faience art tile and architectural terra cotta. He documents the works of the old craftsmen in order to raise awareness and prevent significant tile and terra cotta installations from being discarded, and is available for consultations. He shares a free, quarterly newsletter (sign up here) giving detailed stories on terra cotta and tile. He also writes a columns for UrbanMilwaukee called Tile Town and the Wauwatosa Historical Society called Tile Tales. Click here to see Tyjeski's resume.
